Good results for MS especially considering the economic climate. It is hilarious seeing the meltdowns of some posters *cough* power of flops *cough*
MS sells less during the slowest part of the year. Last year saw more of a price cut boost during this period and a recession hence the slowest quarter in sales for 2 years. This cannot be turned into a MS is doomed article becuase SOny and Nintendo will post equally poor sales. Its just the state of the industry right now. Infact as it is 2008 could turn out to be the peak year for this generation of consoles. Heres hoping that things pick up this christmas and 2010.
really? Nintendo, yes as games is all they do and thus they have only made a quarterly loss once.
However Sony and MS are more than willing. MS was willing to put the xbox out at a loss to halt Sony's move into the living room and as a result have made around a $10 billion on the xbox division.

On topic decent results for MS but not spectacular by any means. Sales slightly down this quarter compared with Apr - Jun 08. 31.4 million lifetime shipped consoles is a decent amount and they sure are pulling away from the original box with speed.

The 360 never had a 10 million lead, upon the ps3's release MS had announced they had shipped 5.5 million consoles. The gap with the latest figures is 8 million.
